- Bulgarian rich-fruited variety KAZALNAK is interesting for its large pear-shaped fruits. It has an excellent sweet taste and is suitable for direct consumption. Fruiting starts already in the second year. It is characterized by high hardiness and high disease resistance.
- It grows quickly in the first year and can reach 50 cm in height. In the following years the growth slows down. Pruning is not necessary, if necessary we can make a topiary.
- DOgwood belongs to the self-pollinating plants, but if I want to have a higher and better quality harvest, it is advisable to have another plant for pollination. Driene blooms in March, and the flowers tolerate light frosts well.
- The fruits are large, pear-shaped, red when fully ripe, with an average weight of 9 g. The flesh is firm, juicy, with a full, sweet-sour taste. The ripe fruits are very tasty when fresh, but they are also suitable for processing into jelly, jam, fruit juices, syrup or candied fruits.
- The ripening period is in the second half of August. The yield is high and regular.
- They are resistant to diseases and pests and have high frost resistance. During the ripening of the fruit regular watering is advisable.
