- "The large-fruited Ukrainian dogwood variety YEVGENIA has an excellent taste and large red fruits.
- The large-fruited dogwood has an interesting growth pattern, in the first year it can have growth of up to 50 cm, but the older it gets, the slower it grows.
- It is ideal for cultivation in our region, but it also tolerates higher altitudes well. It grows upright.
- The dogwoods are partially self-pollinating, but for a high-quality harvest and large fruits, it is advisable to have a pollinator in the form of a different variety.
- Blooming begins in March, and the flowers also withstand spring frosts well.
- The fruits are red and can weigh up to 6-8 g. In the center, there is a pit that can be easily separated from the flesh. The shape of the fruit is oval. The taste is refreshingly sweet-sour and juicy. After harvesting, the fruits ripen perfectly. When the fruits ripen, they remain on the tree for a relatively long time.
- The fruits do not fall off after ripening and ripen from mid-September. The variety is very fruitful; one mature tree can yield up to 50-70 kg of fruits.
- Growing dogwoods is undemanding. We can expect a harvest as early as the first year after planting. Dogwoods do not require pruning, but it is possible to do shaping pruning. Dogwood trees root shallowly, so regular watering is advisable. In case of leaf wilt, it is recommended to fertilize with potassium.
- The variety is sufficiently resistant to pests and diseases."
