Late Finnish variety with high mildew resistance.

'Lepaan Punainen' (syn. 'Hinninmäen punainen') is an older Finnish gooseberry variety, bred back in the 1930s at the Hinnonmäki station. It is highly valued for its high yield and excellent resistance to American gooseberry mildew. It produces dark red fruits primarily suitable for processing.
