- Gooseberry Kameniar is a Ukrainian variety. It belongs to the undemanding varieties, therefore it is also suitable for amateur growers
- It is medium in stature , grows up to 1m. It grows upright. This gooseberry variety is self-pollinating.
- The fruits are red in colour, medium in size and have a thin skin, but are resistant to cracking. The flavour is sweet, balanced and very tasty. The fruit does not drop and does not lose quality even when harvested later. It is one of the tastiest gooseberry varieties.
- The yield is high and regular, averaging around 5 kg per bushel, and it is suitable for direct consumption as well as for processing.
- Ripening begins in July
- Kameniar is resistant to American powdery mildew.
- It likes a sunny or semi-shaded position. The soil should be moist and permeable with a slightly acid soil reaction.
- It is fully hardy.
- Three years after planting, we can make a rejuvenation pruning.
