Peach (Prunus persica) 'Viktors'

A large-fruited Latvian variety with exceptionally tasty fruits.

'Viktors' is a Latvian peach variety, prized mainly for its high productivity and very large, exceptionally flavorful fruits. The tree has medium vigor and is self-fertile. The fruits are large, spherical, yellow with a red blush, and have white, juicy, and very tasty sweet-tart flesh. The stone separates well from the flesh. To achieve the best fruit quality and a reliable harvest, it requires planting in a warm, sunny, and protected location.

Variety Characteristics

Tree

Growth is medium to strong, with a sparse, upright crown. It comes into bearing in the 3rd–4th year after planting and is very productive. It is self-fertile.

• Skin: Distinctly fuzzy, yellow to yellow-orange, with a red blush on the sunny side.
