Cherry (Prunus avium) 'Tamara' (S)
Medium-late Czech variety with huge and aromatic fruits.
'Tamara' is a premium Czech cherry variety bred in Holovousy by crossing 'Krupnoplodnaja' and 'Van'. It is sought after mainly for its huge, very tasty fruits, which are among the largest on the market. Although more sensitive to cracking and brown rot, its fruit quality makes it ideal for the premium market and cultivation under covers.
Main advantages of the variety:
- Large to very large fruits (over 30 mm).
- Excellent, highly aromatic, and spicy taste.
- Firm (Durofel 75-80), crunchy, and very juicy flesh.
- Attractive dark red to black-red color with shine.
- Suitable for the premium market.
Origin and Registration
- Country of origin: Czech Republic (Holovousy)
- Breeder: Blazek
- Editor: Artevos® (Germany) - protected variety.
- Parentage: 'Krupnoplodnaja' × 'Van' (HL 10 201)
