Autumn Romanian variety with buttery flesh and high yield.
'Untoasă de Geoagiu' (translated as "Geoagiu Butter Pear") is a high-quality Romanian pear variety from the SCDP Geoagiu station. It is valued for its weaker growth and "spur" type fruiting, making it ideal for modern intensive orchards. The fruits stand out for their fine, buttery flesh and excellent taste.
Main advantages of the variety:
- Very early bearing onset and high yield.
- Weaker growth, suitable for intensive orchards.
- Large fruits (180 – 220 g) with buttery flesh.
- Good affinity with quince rootstock.
