- Native to the USA, this blueberry is easy to grow and therefore popular with growers. It is suitable for commercial plantation cultivation , but also for home growers.
- The growth is upright compact, dense. It reaches a height of 150cm.
- When planning to buy blueberry seedlings, it is best to follow the principle of planting varieties with similar flowering dates and as close relatives as possible in the vicinity. For the Nelson blueberry this is the Chandler and Bluecrop variety
- The taste of the berries is excellent, very aromatic, they form sparse clusters that can hang for a long time on the cre, without losing their properties. On average, the bush yields 6kg. They are suitable for direct consumption as well as for processing or storage.
- It ripens in August. It takes about 3 weeks to harvest Nelson blueberries.
- It has a high resistance to frost as well as disease.
- For amateur cultivation, plant Nelson blueberry seedlings every 1,5 m in succession, with a distance of about 2 m between each row.
