Family Apple Tree (3 in 1): Baltais Dzidrais + Majoru Saldais + Rīgas Rožābele

A perfect memory of summer. Three historical varieties on one trunk that will bring refreshing, extremely sweet, and juicy apples to your garden from late July through September.

1. Apple 'Baltais Dzidrais' (White Transparent / Early Summer Variety)

The famous "White Transparent." A legendary summer apple with a refreshing sweet-sour taste, ideal for fresh eating, purees, and the first apple pies.

The season on this tree is spectacularly opened by 'Baltais Dzidrais' (commonly known as White Transparent or Papirovka). It is a globally widespread variety well-remembered from grandparents' orchards. It excels in absolute low-maintenance requirements, regular crops, and a refreshing flavor that, for many, is the true symbol of summer.

Main advantages of the variety:

  • Refreshing taste: Sweet-sour, very tender, and juicy flesh.
  • Low maintenance and immunity: Excellent frost hardiness and good resistance to apple scab.
  • Versatility: Great eaten straight off the tree, unbeatable for baby food and pies.
  • Very early ripening: One of the first summer treats on the tree.
Fruit and Harvest
  • Appearance: Medium to large apples with the typical pale yellow to green-yellow skin.
  • Harvest Time: Very early, picked at the turn of July and August.
  • Storability: None. Reaches eating maturity immediately after picking.

2. Apple 'Majoru Saldais' (Late Summer Variety)

A historical "Marzipan" apple from the 19th century with a flavor reminiscent of sweet, juicy pears.

During August, the 'Majoru Saldais' variety ripens seamlessly. It is a humble, low-maintenance summer apple tree distinguished by extreme wood frost hardiness. Its fruits have an unusual pear-like undertone and are a highly sought-after summer treat, especially for children.

Main advantages of the variety:

  • Pear-like sweetness: Distinctly sweet, specific flavor with very low acidity.
  • Extreme frost hardiness: Withstands very harsh winters in colder regions.
  • Low maintenance: A highly undemanding tree with strong overall disease resistance.
Fruit and Harvest
  • Appearance: Medium-sized, pale (yellowish) fruits with a marbled red blush on the sunny side.
  • Harvest Time: Early to mid-August.
  • Storability: Short. Apples are best consumed fresh straight from the tree.

3. Apple 'Rīgas Rožābele' (Autumn Variety)

The Riga Pink Apple – an exceptionally adaptable Latvian variety with juicy flesh, thriving easily even in poorer soils.

Closing out the summer and transitioning into autumn is 'Rīgas Rožābele', a historical Latvian seedling from 1940. This variety grows with less vigor, making it a perfect fit for a multi-grafted tree, and offers good resistance to scab.

Main advantages of the variety:

  • Soil tolerance: Grows well even where other varieties fail.
  • Weaker Vigor: Ideal for maintaining the compact habit of a family tree.
  • Excellent Health: Good resistance to scab and apple canker.
  • Early bearing: Fast onset of crops with good winter hardiness.
Fruit and Harvest
  • Appearance: Small to medium-sized, ribbed yellow apples with red stripes. Less visually striking, but exceptionally tasty.
  • Taste: Very juicy, tender, pleasantly sweet-sour.
  • Harvest Time: Late summer / early autumn (turn of August and September).
  • Storability: Unlike the preceding summer varieties, this one can be stored short-term.
