The plum variety called 'IMPERIAL' is columnar and excels in the quality of its fruit. It is ideal for growing in small gardens with limited space or in containers on a balcony or terrace.
It grows moderately vigorously and has a characteristic columnar shape. The side shoots point upwards, parallel to the central shoot. Regular pruning is recommended to maintain the correct shape. The mature tree reaches a height of approximately 3 metres.
IMPERIAL' is a self-pollinating variety, which means that it does not require other trees for pollination. The fruits are large, covered with a dark blue skin. The flesh is yellow and separates easily from the stone. With a sweet and pleasant taste, they are suitable for direct consumption as well as for processing.
The fruit ripens at the beginning of August, with a steady harvest expected in the first year after planting. "IMPERIAL' prefers a sunny position, humid soil and regular watering. In addition, it is resistant to plum diseases and shows good hardiness.
