Flat Peach (Prunus persica var. platycarpa) 'Filip'
First Romanian flat variety with white flesh and honey-like taste.
'Filip' is a unique Romanian variety of the so-called flat (donut) peach. Bred at the SCDP Constanța station, it is exceptional for being the first Romanian flat variety with white flesh. The fruits are popular for their sweet taste resembling honey and figs.
Main advantages of the variety:
- Unique flat shape of the fruit.
- Exceptional sweet taste with notes of honey and figs (low acidity).
- Very high yield (30 – 35 kg per tree).
- Self-fertile.

Variety Characteristics
Tree
- Vigor: Medium to strong.
- Crown: Spherical.
Fruit
- Size and Weight: Small to medium, 55 – 70 g.
- Shape and Color: Very flattened ("sandwich" shape). The skin is yellow-green, covered with dark red spots.
- Flesh: White, juicy, fine texture.
- Taste: Sweet, with flavors of honey and figs, low acid content.
- Stone: Very small, flat, Freestone (separates from flesh).
- Usage: Universal (fresh consumption, processing).
