'Auriu' (meaning "Golden") is a Romanian quince variety bred at the SCDP Târgu Jiu station as a natural hybrid of the well-known variety ‘Bereczki’. It is highly valued for its very large fruits, reaching weights of up to half a kilogram, attractive appearance, and low maintenance requirements.
