  • ALJOŠA is a very early Russian variety of yellow Dogwood with beautiful oval fruits and excellent sweet taste, suitable for direct consumption. It starts bearing fruit already in the second year. It is characterized by high frost resistance and strong disease resistance.
  • The growth is upright, in the first year it grows quickly and can have growth spurts of up to 50 cm. In the following years, the growth slows down. Pruning is not necessary, but if needed, shaping pruning can be done.
  • Dogwood belong to self-pollinating plants, but for a higher and higher quality yield, it is advisable to have another plant for pollination. Dogwood bloom in March, and the blossoms tolerate even light frost well.
  • The fruits are large, oval, and when fully ripe, they are bright yellow, with an average fruit weight of 4-5 g. The flesh is firm, juicy, with a full sweet-sour taste. Ripe fruits are very tasty fresh, but they are also suitable for processing into jelly, jam, fruit juices, syrups, or candied fruit.
  • The ripening period is very early, in the first half of August. The yields are high and regular. Dogwood are resistant to diseases, pests, and have a high frost resistance. Regular watering during fruit ripening is recommended.
