Pear (Pyrus communis) 'Orizont'

Winter Romanian variety with long storage life and complex resistance.

'Orizont' is a modern winter pear variety bred at the SCDP Voinești station. Thanks to its genetic origin (including *Pyrus serotina*), it features excellent resistance to diseases and pests. It is an ideal variety for storage, as the fruits remain in good condition until spring.

Main advantages of the variety:

  • Long storage life (until March).
  • Resistance to Scab and Fire blight.
  • Tolerance to Pear Psylla.
  • Large fruits (150 – 200 g).
  • Bears fruit on short wood (suitable for intensive cultivation).
