Late self-fertile variety resistant to frost with large fruits.
'Lauranne' (sometimes sold as 'Avijor') is a modern French almond variety bred by INRAE. It is extremely popular for its self-fertility and late flowering, which helps it better withstand late spring frosts. It provides regular and high yields of quality nuts with a hard to semi-hard shell.
Main advantages of the variety:
- Self-fertility (does not require a pollinator).
- Late flowering (escapes spring frosts).
- High and regular yield.
- Good frost resistance and disease resistance.
- Excellent kernel taste.
