We are proud to introduce an exclusive collection of new fruit varieties straight from the rugged yet beautiful country of Estonia! Breeding in the challenging Baltic conditions has produced trees that are perfectly suited for our gardens—they are exceptionally resistant to frost and diseases, and they deliver abundant harvests even where other varieties might fail.

“Forget compromises. These Estonian varieties bring not only resilience but also excellent taste and fruit quality, proven by years of research at the Polli Horticultural Research Centre.”

Let's take a closer look at the six champions you can now find in our collection.

Cherries – Sweet Treasures of the North

Estonian cherries are proof that you can grow fruit of exceptional quality even in a cooler climate.

1. ‘Meelika’ – The Spicy Black Pearl

This dark, almost black cherry is synonymous with high yields. It originates from the open pollination of the legendary ‘Leningradskaja čornaja’ variety and inherits the best of its traits. Its soft, juicy flesh has a unique spicy flavor and a deep, dark red juice. It is partially self-fertile and has good disease resistance.

Variety Profile: ‘Meelika’

  • Ripening Time: Second week of July
  • Fruit: Medium-sized, black-red
  • Taste: Spicy, juicy, dark flesh
  • Key Feature: High yield and unique flavor

2. ‘Madissoni roosa’ – The Pink Giant

A large-fruited cherry that is impressive not only for its size but also for its unusual color. The fruits are light red, and the flesh is yellowish-pink with a pinkish or nearly colorless juice. The taste is a harmonious sweet-tart. It is highly productive and stands out for its frost resistance.

Variety Profile: ‘Madissoni roosa’

  • Ripening Time: Mid-July
  • Fruit: Large, round, light red
  • Taste: Harmonious sweet-tart, with pinkish flesh
  • Key Feature: Large fruits and high frost resistance

3. ‘Norri’ – The Compact Tree with Character

An ideal choice for smaller gardens. ‘Norri’ has a smaller stature and characteristic drooping branches. The fruits are on the larger side, black-red, and heart-shaped. The firm, dark red flesh has a pleasant spicy taste, similar to ‘Meelika’. It requires a pollinator, such as the ‘Meelika’ variety.

Variety Profile: ‘Norri’

  • Ripening Time: Mid-July
  • Fruit: Larger, broad-heart-shaped, black-red
  • Taste: Spicy, firm dark flesh
  • Key Feature: Smaller size, ideal for small gardens

Plums – Reliable Harvests and Great Taste

Estonian plums are bred for high, regular yields and excellent flavor.

1. ‘Ave’ – The Reliable Giant

If you're looking for a plum with truly large fruits, ‘Ave’ is the one for you. The fruits typically weigh 40–55 grams! It is highly and reliably productive, with a harmonious sweet-tart flavor that is excellent for both fresh eating and canning. The stone is small and separates easily from the flesh.

Variety Profile: ‘Ave’

  • Ripening Time: Mid-season
  • Fruit: Very large (41–55 g), red-purple
  • Taste: Harmonious sweet-tart, versatile use
  • Key Feature: Huge fruits and reliable yields

2. ‘Liisu’ – The Early Star

‘Liisu’ is a high-yielding variety that ripens as early as the beginning of August. The fruits are large, egg-shaped, and red-purple. The yellow flesh is juicy, with a balanced sweet-tart flavor and a stone that separates easily. It is not self-fertile and requires another plum variety nearby for pollination.

Variety Profile: ‘Liisu’

  • Ripening Time: First week of August
  • Fruit: Large, egg-shaped, red-purple
  • Taste: Harmonious sweet-tart, with yellow flesh
  • Key Feature: Very early ripening and high yield

Apple – Beauty That Lasts

1. ‘Krista’ – The Autumn Beauty with a Long Shelf Life

‘Krista’ is an autumn variety that shatters myths about storage life. It is harvested in September and can be stored in good conditions until the end of February! The fruits are medium to large, with an attractive bright red color that makes them a star in the market and the garden. The white, firm flesh has an excellent sweet-tart taste. The tree starts bearing early, produces abundantly, and fruits annually.

Variety Profile: ‘Krista’

  • Harvest: First half of September
  • Fruit: Large (100–200 g), attractive, bright red
  • Taste: Sweet-tart, with firm white flesh
  • Key Feature: Excellent storage life (until February) and attractive appearance
