A Ukrainian variety with excellent flavour and high yield.

'Slava Pobeditelyam' (Слава Победителям) is a proven Ukrainian apple variety, created by crossing ‘White Transparent’ and ‘McIntosh’. It is valued for its high yield, good frost resistance, and fruits with an excellent sweet-tart flavour. Its main disadvantages are lower drought resistance and medium scab resistance.

Variety Characteristics

Tree

• Growth: Vigorous.
• Crown: Broadly pyramidal, becoming high-oval to globular with age.
• Pollination: It is cross-pollinated.

Fruit

• Size and weight: Medium to large, with a weight of 140 – 180 g.
• Shape and colour: Oblong-round to slightly conical. Light green, almost the entire surface is covered with a deep red blush.
• Skin: Smooth, with a slight waxy bloom.
• Flesh: White to creamy, very tender and juicy.
• Flavour: Excellent, sweet-tart, aromatic (rating 4.5/5).
• Use: Versatile.

Resistance and Requirements

• Frost resistance: Good (down to -35 °C). Flowers are resistant to spring frosts.
• Disease resistance: Medium resistance to scab.
• Drought resistance: Lower.
